Ihoghosa Iyamu (Co-Lead) – MD, MDICHA, PhD; he/him

Dr. Iyamu is a CIHR Health Systems Impact Fellow at the BCCDC and a post-doctoral research fellow at the School of Population and Public Health, UBC. He is an internationally trained physician whose research focus involves using implementation science, design thinking and evaluation methods to explore how digital health programs can foster equitable health service access to improve population and public health outcomes. In his spare time, Dr. Iyamu enjoys cooking.

Mark Gilbert (Co-Lead) – MD, MHSc, FRCPC; he/him

Dr. Gilbert is a settler and public health physician at the BCCDC and an Associate Professor (Partner) at the School of Population and Public Health, UBC and currently holds a CIHR Applied Public Health Chair in sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections. His research also focuses on digital public health and sexual and gender minority health (and the intersections between these three areas). Outside of work, you can find Mark riding his bike, watching B-movies on Netflix, and trying his best to parent a teenager.

Hsiu-Ju Chang – MSc; she/her

Hsiu-Ju is a research manager supporting the Digital & Sexual Health Initiative and other researchers in the Clinical Prevention Services at the BCCDC. As an immigrant, Hsiu-Ju is grateful for living, working and playing on the unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Kwikwetlem peoples. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the beautiful landscapes and diverse culinary scenes of Metro Vancouver.

Swathi Ramachandran – BDS, MSc; she/her

Dr. Ramachandran is a research assistant at BCCDC. She is an internationally trained dentist and her research focus involves digital public health and dental public health. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, crafting and exploring the great outdoors with her dog.
